Der Walking Man, weit bekannt, ist das 17-meter hohe Kunstwerk der Münchner Rückversicherungsgesellschaft auf der Leopoldstrasse in München. Geschaffen vom amerikanischen Künstler Jonathan Borofsky (*1942) rahmt diese in der Bewegung des Gehens befindliche, monochrome Skulptur seit 1995 den Eingangsbereich der Versicherung und scheint durch die Bäume zu schreiten. Die Skulptur basiert auf einer in den USA geschaffenenen Stahlkonstruktion und wurde aus Fiberglas geformt.
Vom Walking Man gibt viele Photos aus verschiedenen Winkeln; ich habe versucht (trotz des trüben Wetters) eine spannende, ungewohnte Perspektive und Lichtwirkung zu finden, die die Dynamik des Kunstwerkes aufgreift.
The Walking Man, well known, is a 17 meter tall art of the MunichRe on the Leopold street in Munich. Created by the artist Jonathan Borofsky (*1942) this monochrome sculpture from 1995, apparently in motion, frames the entrance area of the ensurance and seems to walk through the trees. The sculpture is based on a structural steelwork from the USA and was formed with fibreglass.
There are dozens of pictures of the Walking Man; I tried to find an unusual point of view and lighting (despite the murky weather) of view that seizes on the dynamic of that art.
